This is an assemblage incorporating the playful things which bring me joy - gardens, monoprints, hand sewing, bright colours and drawing with wire. The work stems from my memories of our beautiful gardens around our home and inside the constant sounds of sewing and wood crafts. Our family enjoyed the handmade and this love of creating has supported me all my life and given great joy and happiness. The title is derived from the square bases and the addition of square blocks as joy is exponential and its memory and surprises continue to always give us delightful days and hope.

This piece is constructed from one monoprint carefully cut apart and pieced together and mounted on two square bases with small square woodblocks added.
