This piece was inspired by a poem by local poet dl clay. Poetry gives me peace and joy and creating an agnostic artwork to accompany a poem is always very fulfilling. This poem in particular I found very peaceful and I tried to capture the balance of it.
what i have decided is a hawk
brown on blue
has drawn a circle in the sky
outside of this room i am keeping
my self in

i open the window
keen
for the lost dove of myself
for the fierce hawk of my self
surrendered
circle broken

now
no more waiting
until tomorrow
