There is something about a road trip. From pouring over maps and ferry schedules to packing the van with my favourite music and snacks, every moment is a joy. An open road and time to myself is always a thrill. This particular image is the view looking west on Highway 1 between Banff and Lake Louise. I've taken this route hundreds of times and the majesty of the Rocky Mountains never fails to fill me with awe. While recognizing our complicated history, I remain grateful to live in a peaceful country that affords me the freedom to roam.
